Wanted domestic violence suspect in custody after North Sacramento standoff

SACRAMENTO — Officers have taken a man wanted on suspicion of domestic violence into custody after a standoff in North Sacramento on Saturday.

Sacramento police announced just after 1 p.m. that there was a heavy law enforcement presence along the 3100 block of Callecita Street. 

Police said the person they were negotiating was a wanted domestic violence suspect. Due to the situation, police said Callecita Street between Arcade Boulevard and Sonoma Avenue was closed.  

A little after 2 p.m., police announced that they had safely detained the suspect. 

Along with officers and negotiators, police said K9 units, an air unit, a drone, and an armored vehicle helped in the incident.
