Police: Motorcyclist Who Tried To Bait Cops Into Chase Dies In Stockton Crash

STOCKTON (CBS13) — A motorcyclist who tried to lead Stockton Police on a high-speed chase died in a collision, police said on Thursday.

At around 8:30 p.m., officers were on a traffic stop about a half-mile away from Pacific Avenue and Regent Street when a sports bike drove past them, with the driver revving its engine.

Officers attempted to make a stop, but the motorcyclist took off and police stopped the pursuit. Police found him a half-mile away when he crashed into an SUV.

The motorcycle drive was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
