Police: McClatchy High Teacher Arrested After Wrestling Student

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A teacher at McClatchy High School is suspected of showing up to work drunk and wrestling a student.

The Sacramento Police Department says they were called to the school just a little after 8 a.m. Officers arrested 58-year-old David Fritz, the teacher, and noted signs of alcohol impairment.

According to a statement from the Sacramento City Unified School District, students recorded cellphone video of the incident and showed it to authorities.

Video shows the teacher hitting and slapping the student repeatedly at his desk. Second later, Fritz wrestles the boy onto his stomach, before wrapping his arms around his back.
