Police: Man Suspected Of Driving Drunk Kills Pedestrian In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police say a man was driving drunk when he hit and killed a pedestrian in Stockton Friday night.

The scene was near Hammer Lane and Etna Street.

Stockton Police say a pedestrian in the area was hit by a car just after 8:30 p.m. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as a man, soon died from his injuries.

Officers say the suspect driver, 62-year-old Clifford Perkins, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Perkins was also driving under a suspended license and had a warrant out for his arrest, police say.

Perkins has since been arrested. He is facing vehicular manslaughter, among other charges.
