Police: Man Caught Stealing His Third Bait Bike

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An alleged serial bicycle thief just won't learn his lesson, police say.

Saturday, the Sacramento Police Bike Unit tweeted that they had caught another suspect who chose the wrong bicycle to steal – one of the department's "bait bikes."

The suspect was identified as John Kirkman. He allegedly stole the bike from the downtown Sacramento area, police say.

Bait bikes are one of the ways the police department tries to deter potential thieves. The bikes often have a GPS device attached, allowing officers to easily hone-in on a suspect.
