Police: Man, 22, Was Pushing Shopping Cart, Carrying Sawed-Off Shotgun

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police say that a young man is under arrest on weapons charges after he was seen pushing around a shopping cart while carrying a shotgun.

The man was reported to authorities just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Stockton Police Department. A caller reported seeing the suspicious man near Hunter and Sonora Streets.

Officers soon confronted the man, 22-year-old Luis Arroyo, along the 400 block of South Grant Street and found that the man was not only carrying a weapon, but a loaded double-barrel sawed-off shotgun. Arroyo was arrested immediately without incident, police say.

Arroyo is now facing weapons charges, according to the Stockton Police Department.
