Police Looking For Owners Of Stolen Lawn Equipment

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Local thieves are accused of stealing items that haven't been much use in Northern California lately.

Sacramento police say they found a large amount of stolen lawn equipment they're trying to return to owners.

In May police went to a home in the 7400 block of Elder Creek Road and found dozens of items in the backyard, including 10 lawn mowers, 10 weed eaters, pressure washers, generators and welding units, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.

Detectives since determined that some of the items are stolen. They're hoping property owners come forward to claim the rest of the property and help officers with the investigation.

Anyone with similar items that may have been lost or stolen is asked to contact Community Service Officer R. Martin at (916) 808-4558 and provide proof of ownership.
