Police Impersonator Tried To Pull Over Woman In Ceres

CERES (CBS13) - Police in Ceres are looking for a person suspected of impersonating a police officer.

The incident happened back on Sept. 15. A 29-year-old woman reported to police that she was driving on Morgan Road at Whitmore Avenue when a charcoal gray Chevy sedan with tinted windows got behind her and started flashing red and blue lights.

Police say she was skeptical that it was an actual officer because she did not hear a siren.

The woman called police and she was told to drive toward the Ceres Police Station. By the time real officers met up with her, the suspicious sedan had disappeared.

Ceres police have contacted other agencies in the area to see if an unmarked car was working that night, but none were found.

Anyone who knows who the suspicious car may belong to is asked to call authorities at (209) 538-5713.
