Police Identify Citrus Heights Man Shot And Killed During Shoot-Out With Officers

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - Police have released the man who was shot and killed by Citrus Heights officers earlier this week.

Citrus Heights police officers responded to an apartment complex on Greenback Lane near San Juan Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a domestic violence incident between a husband and wife.

When officers arrived on scene they say the 35-year-old Eduardo Reyes began shooting at them.

Investigators say four officers returned fire, killing Reyes.

No officers were injured.

Bogdan Pishtoy was there when it happened.

"I was at home and I just heard a bunch of shots," he said.

Cellphone video obtained by CBS13 from the scene captured the sounds of eight shots fired during the incident.
The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation takes place.
