Police: Fatal Crash Closes Highway 4 In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police say that all lanes of Highway 4 are blocked as officers investigate a fatal crash Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. along Charter Way, near Stockton Street, according to the Stockton Police Department. A big rig and a Toyota Tundra collided at the scene and the driver of the Toyota was ejected.

The driver of the Toyota - who was not wearing a seat belt - was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Investigators are saying that fog looks to be a contributing factor in the crash, as very heavy fog was in the area at the time. Speed is also believed to be a factor.

Charter Way in both east and west directions is closed for the time being.
