Police: Fairfield Grandmother Intentionally Drowned Child In Bathtub

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — A grandmother is accused of drowning her 4-year-old grandson in a bathtub, Fairfield Police said on Tuesday.

Dawn Diana Raines-Hewes, 51, was arrested after police responded to a home on Jefferson Street at around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. A 4-year-old boy was found unconscious and not breathing. He died later at a trauma center.

Two granddaughters, a 1-year-old and a 6-year-old, were also in the home, but were unharmed.
