Police Arrest Man Setting Off Explosives In Fresno, Find Drugs In His Home

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say they arrested a Central California man setting off home-made explosives in his neighborhood, leading investigators to a trove of weapons and drugs.

Lt. Joe Gomez of the Fresno Police Department said Thursday that a search of 49-year-old Alan Robertson's home uncovered bomb-making devices, an Uzi pistol, a sawed-off shotgun, methamphetamine and cocaine.

Police say that neighbors reported an explosion Wednesday night; neighbors told officers that for months they've heard blasts coming from the home, sometimes several times a night.

Police say they suspect the home is source of gunshot blasts also reported.

Robertson was booked into jail on charges including possession of destructive devices, bomb-making components and for having illegal drugs with a loaded firearm.

Robertson could not be immediately reached at his home.
