K9 Apprehends Suspect After Short Pursuit In North Sacramento

NORTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Police have taken a suspect into custody after nearly three hours of searching in North Sacramento.

Officers say the incident began just before 6 p.m. near Silver Eagle and Norwood. An officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, but the vehicle failed to stop, prompting a shot pursuit.

During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into another vehicle and ran from the scene. No one was injured in the crash.

A police perimeter was established at the scene of the crash, near Arcade Boulevard and Altos Avenue.

Officers finally located the suspect in a yard of a residence. He was apprehended by a K-9 officer and taken into custody.

According to police, a loaded handgun was located inside the suspect's vehicle.
