Planning Commission Approves Plan For Curtis Park Gas Station

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The city's planning commission has approved a gas station in Curtis Park in a meeting that ran past midnight.

The 16-pump station would be a part of a Safeway at the proposed shopping center.

Community advocates have railed against the proposed gas station due to concerns over traffic congestion, possible health impacts and the hunger for more locally-owned businesses.

The vote came down just after 1 a.m. by a 8-3 count.
