Placer County Sheriff's Detective Killed In Crime Spree Posthumously Receives National Award

A Placer County sheriff's detective who was shot and killed in October is being honored by a national organization.

The American Police Hall of Fame and Museum posthumously awarded Placer County Sheriff's Department Detective Michael Davis Jr. their Medal of Honor.

Davis was shot and killed during a crime spree that also claimed the life of Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy Danny Oliver.

The organization awarded Davis the award in recognition of his actions and the sacrifice he made for his community.
