Persons Of Interest Identified In Murder Near Stockton Movie Theater

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Detectives have identified three persons of interest in connection to the shooting that left a man dead outside of a popular Stockton movie theater.

Jimmie Zavala, 24, Michael Moreno, 24, and Miguel Gallardo are all wanted in connection to the April 25 murder of Francisco Sanchez. Zavala and Gallardo are said to be documented gang members.

Investigators believe that Sanchez was shot to death after getting into a confrontation and fight under the cineplex dome in downtown Stockton. Surveillance footage released Monday showed five men entering the Misaki Japanese Restaurant at the plaza, where investigators believe the argument may have started.

Sanchez did not have any gang ties, his wife said.

Public outcry about the incident has been overwhelming. Numerous tips have followed after the release of video surveillance, helping detectives identify the three men as persons of interest.

Anyone who recognizes the men, or who has more information about the incident, is asked to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377
