Person Shot At, Dragged By Car In Elk Grove

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Police are searching for the suspect behind a shooting in Elk Grove.

Just after 8 a.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting in the neighborhood just southeast of Carroll Elementary School on Castro Verde Way. The suspect reportedly shot at the suspect and drove off; and as he drove away, somehow dragged the victim, according to a statement from Elk Grove police.

The victim's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, who was wearing a purple hoodie.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a blue 2002 BMW.

The school was not placed on lockdown.
