Man found with gunshot wounds inside his vehicle in Elk Grove

ELK GROVE - A man was rushed to the hospital after he was found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in Elk Grove Saturday night, police said.

At about 10 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that a man was found in a vehicle against an AM/PM on Sheldon and E. Stockton suffering from gunshot wounds.

Detectives said they learned the man was shot in Sacramento before he drove to Elk Grove where officers found him.

The Elk Grove Police Department said it turned the investigation over to the Sacramento Police Department, who said they found evidence of a shooting, including a vehicle with an apparent bullet hole, near Praline Way and Dotson Court.

Officers canvassed the area and CSI responded to help collect evidence.

The Sacramento Police Department said the man was suffering from at least one gunshot wound and is in stable condition at the hospital.

No arrests have been made and no information about a suspect was available.
