Pedestrian Hit And Killed By Amtrak Train In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - One person has died after being hit by an Amtrak train in South Sacramento.

Police say they received a medical aid call on Friday morning at around 7 a.m. in the area of Elder Creek Road near Florin Perkins Road. When they arrived, officers found a deceased male pedestrian.

Officers searched the tracks for evidence as they tried to determine why the pedestrian was near the tracks.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

Trains are once again running through the area after being delayed and hour and a half.
