Part Of Highway 49 Closed In Sierra County Due To Mud, Rock Slides

SIERRA COUNTY (CBS13) – Mud and rock slides have forced crews to close a portion of Highway 49 in the Sierra.

California Highway Patrol's Grass Valley division says the slides have happened north of Downieville.

The incidents have forced CHP to close the freeway from Downieville to Sierra City.

Only locals are being let through for the time being.
