Parents Of Organ Donor Meet One Of The Three People She Saved

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An El Dorado Hills couple got the chance to meet the recipient of their daughter's kidney.

Kaylee Elaine West would have turned 30-years-old on Dec. 6, but she passed away in 2011 at the age of 24 after a brain aneurysm.

It was Kaylee's last wish to be an organ donor, and on Tuesday her parents Ken and Linda West met Jeanne Schreiber.

"At our darkest hour, it was one of the simplest decisions we had to make," Linda said. "It was what Kaylee wanted and she let the people closest to her know that was her greatest and final wish."

Schreiber is one of three people whose lives were saved because of Kaylee's final act of kindness.

The Wests are huge Sacramento Kings fans, so the team hosted this special 30th birthday celebration.
