Traffic problems linger on WB I-80 after big rig overturned on Yolo Causeway
YOLO COUNTY – A big rig crash that caused a significant slowdown on westbound Interstate 80 out of Sacramento towards Davis Tuesday morning continues to be a traffic headache.
The crash happened just after 5 a.m. on the Yolo Causeway, just before the Chiles Road exit.

Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but Caltrans says a semi-truck ended up flipped over after it veered into a marked construction zone.
No injuries were reported, including by the big rig driver. The big rig was hauling frozen products.
Caltrans said westbound traffic was reduced to two lanes due to the crash. Work crews uprighted the truck around 7 a.m., but residual traffic delays continued through the morning and into the early evening.
No estimated time for full reopening has been given. Caltrans crews were still out in the afternoon hours working to repair the shoulder where the crash took place, leaving one lane still blocked.

Traffic was backing up through West Sacramento, including on Highway 50. Drivers should consider taking Interstate 5 up to Woodland to detour the backup.
