Overturned Big Rig Blocked Harbor Boulevard On-Ramp

UPDATE: Crews have reopened the on-ramps after righting the big rig and moving it away.

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An overturned big rig has a major on-ramp in West Sacramento blocked Thursday morning.

The scene is on the eastbound Highway 50 on-ramp from Harbor Boulevard.

A big rig overturned on the on-ramp just before 6:30 a.m.

California Highway Patrol investigators say the driver of the big rig was driving fast getting onto the on-ramp just before overturning.

The big rig was carrying 40,000 pounds of concrete per trailer.

CHP says the driver broke his arm in the accident.

The on-ramp is blocked as crews try and clear the scene. Caltrans and CHP are redirecting traffic up and over Harbor Boulevard.
