Oroville Dam Spillway Emergency Siren Test Coming On Friday

OROVILLE (CBS13) — If you hear a sound that makes you think a disaster is imminent, it's just a test.

The California Department of Water Resources will be testing a new emergency siren at noon on Friday at Lake Oroville.

The new alarm was installed on May 27 to replace one lost during spillway releases in February.

The sound is expected to only last for less than a minute.

More tests will happen on the first Friday of every month this summer.
