Orangevale Teen Suspected Of DUI Crashes Truck Into Car, Injuring 3

ORANGEVALE (CBS13) – A 17-year-old is under arrest and three other people are recovering after a head-on crash.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. on Hazel Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol.

Investigators say the teen was driving northbound in a Toyota pickup truck when he for some reason lost control, crashing head-on into a Hyundai sedan.  The Hyundai's driver and two passengers – all women in their early 20s – were taken to the hospital.

One woman suffered a broken arm and lacerations to her face. All three are expected to survive.

CHP says the teen was checked out found to have been on prescription medications. He has been arrested and is facing felony DUI charges.
