One Man, 3 Teens Allegedly Fire 26 Rounds At Stockton Police Vehicles

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Three people were arrested in Stockton last night after they allegedly fired over two-dozen rounds at police vehicles.

Around 9:15 p.m. Friday, officers were driving marked and unmarked vehicles in the area of Sacramento and Ninth Streets, responding to a call, when at least three suspects hiding near an SUV parked on the street fired at the officers' vehicles, according to a Stockton Police Department statement. Approximately 26 rounds were fired.

Witnesses told police they spotted the suspects running into a nearby home. Officers called for the suspects to come out, which they did. Twenty-two-year-old Lawaun McDonald and three juveniles: one boy, 16, and two boys, 15, were arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and various other gun charges.

Police obtained a warrant to search the home and found three handguns that reportedly matched the caliber of rounds fired at the police. One gun was reported stolen and the two others had their serial numbers removed.
