One Person Detained After Elk Grove Bank Robbery

ELK GROVE (CBS13) — A 40-year-old Sacramento man was arrested for reportedly robbing a bank in Elk Grove Thursday afternoon.

Police say Anthony Wright was arrested on robbery charges after being found with the money that was taken from the Chase Bank on Laguna Boulevard.

Investigators say just after 3:30 p.m., Wright walked up to a teller and handed over a note demanding money. Fearing for her safety, the teller gave the suspect what he asked for. He then ran from the bank but didn't get far.

Witnesses at the scene described the suspect to officers. They found him walking on Laguna Boulevard, just west of Laguna Springs Drive. Wright was detained and investigators found the money taken during the robbery on him.

Wright was taken to the Sacramento County Jail.
