Officials Mum On Why Boy Was Wandering Rural Lincoln

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) — A young boy was found wandering the streets alone in Placer County on Sunday before he was found by a good Samaritan.

People who know Victory Lee, 10, never thought they would see his picture on the news. The fifth-grader from Woodland Christian School was found in the middle of the night.

"We had several people not only staff members but school family members recognize him and call the authorities, so that we are thankful for law enforcement for putting that out," said David Hargadon, director of operations at the school. "And we are glad we were able to point them in the right direction."

Torivo Garcia says he came home after midnight on Sunday in a rural area of Lincoln and noticed a young boy peering through his front door window. Garcia says Lee appeared cold and couldn't remember his parents' names or where he went to school.

Hargadon says he was shocked to hear Lee was found miles away from his home, late at night in freezing cold temperatures.

"This is a surprise to us," he said. "We don't know what happened but our prayers are with Victory and his family and we just want to support him and the authorities as they look into this."

Lee is now under the care of Child Protective Services, and they aren't saying anything about why the fifth-grader was out on the streets alone.
