Off-Duty Deputy Shoots, Kills Armed Suspect In Stockton
STOCKTON (CBS13) – An off-duty San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed a suspect late Tuesday night.
The scene is on the 3500 block of W. Benjamin Holt Drive.

Stockton police say an off-duty deputy was in the area when around 10:40 p.m. he was confronted by two armed suspects wearing masks. Both suspects pointed guns at the deputy's face, investigators say.
Fearing for his safety, the off-duty deputy shot one of the suspects. The other suspect ran off.
First aid was rendered by medics but the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators at the scene found that a gun that may have belonged to the suspect. The weapon, which was reported as stolen, was loaded.

The other suspect has not been located.
At this point, it is unclear if the suspects were trying to rob, carjack or target the deputy. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
