Man, 25, Found Shot Dead At Oakdale Apartment Complex; Suspect Arrested

OAKDALE (CBS13) – A 27-year-old man is under arrest after a shooting that left another man dead at an Oakdale apartment complex over the weekend.

Oakdale police say officers responded to the Bonnie Villa Apartments along Poplar Street just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate a shooting. A 25-year-old man who had been shot was soon found.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Another man at the apartment, 27-year-old William Usilton, was identified by witnesses as the suspect in the shooting. It appears some sort of argument preceded the shooting, investigators say.

Usilton was arrested after a preliminary investigation. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

The name of the man killed has not been released at this point.
