Nobody Hurt When Small Plane Clips Hangar In Fullerton
FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Orange County authorities say nobody was hurt when a small plane lost control upon landing and clipped a hangar at Fullerton Airport.
Fire Chief Kathy Schaefer says the single-engine Piper Super Cub's landing gear buckled beneath it when it touched down Saturday afternoon.
Schaefer says there was a small fuel leak but no fire. Two men on board managed to get out before rescue crews arrived.
Airport manager Brendan O'Reilly tells the Orange County Register there was minor damage to the plane but not to the hangar. The incident is under investigation.
Last month at the same airport a small plane owned by a flight school crashed into a hangar on takeoff, slightly injuring two men who were on board.
The hangar in that crash is directly across the runway from the scene of Saturday's incident.
