No Charges Against Former 'Power Ranger' Who Stabbed Roommate With Sword

PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) — Prosecutors have declined to file charges against a former "Power Rangers" actor arrested in the stabbing death of his housemate in Southern California.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office said Tuesday that prosecutors have asked sheriff's investigators for further investigation regarding the weekend death of Joshua Sutter.

Deputies arrested Ricardo Medina on Saturday. Authorities said Medina stabbed Sutter in the abdomen with a sword, then called 911 and waited for help.

An investigation found that the actor got into a fight with his housemate, who later forced open the door of Medina's bedroom.

On Monday, Medina's agent, Gar Lester, called Medina a "sweet soul" who must have been acting in self-defense.

Medina played the Red Ranger on "Power Rangers Wild Force," which aired in 2002.
