Nearly 5k SMUD Customers Have Power Restored After Crash Along Arden Way

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Nearly 5,000 SMUD customers had their power restored after a big rig crashed into a power pole Monday afternoon in North Sacramento.

The Sacramento Police Department said the collision happened in the area of Arden Way and Evergreen Street. Police said at around 1:15 p.m. that the power pole is down and the intersection is closed.

SMUD said 4,487 customers were left without power as a result of the crash.

Just before 6 p.m., Sacramento police said the intersection remained closed as crews worked to repair the power pole. They estimated that the work would be done around 1 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
