Naked Man In Park Swipes Porland Officer's Stun Gun

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police in Portland say an officer responding to a report of a man exposing himself to young children at a park encountered a naked man who wrestled her Taser away from her.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says the officer had been able to remove the cartridge before the man grabbed the Taser.

The officer called for backup Monday afternoon as the man tried unsuccessfully to get into her locked patrol car. Other officers arrived and arrested him.

Simpson says 32-year-old Lunarness Mendoza was booked for investigation of assaulting an officer, indecent exposure and theft.

The officer was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Officers say several people appeared to be filming and photographing the encounter but did not stay to talk to police.
