Murder Charges Filed Against Son In Placer County Olive Oil Maker's Death

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) — The son of a well-known olive oil maker has been formally charged with killing his father.

The Placer County District Attorney's Office filed murder charges Monday against Robert Carlo Yandolino, 25, of Rocklin, Monday stemming from Thursday's shooting of his father, Carlo Alexander Yandolino.

Carlo Alexander Yandolino, 58, of Newcastle, was found brutally murdered in the driver's seat of his truck, said a Yuba County Sheriff's Department spokesperson.

Charges against Robert include one count of premeditated murder including an allegation of the special circumstance of lying in wait.

Charges were also filed against Robert for hitting one of his father's workers with a rock shortly after the alleged shooting.

Robert surrendered to authorities after a daylong manhunt.

It's unknown what may have motivated the killing.
