Motorcycle Officer Injured After Colliding With Vehicle In Modesto

MODESTO (CBS113) - A Modesto police officer is recovering in the hospital after he was involved in a motorcycle crash.

Police investigators say the officer was riding to work on his motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle in the area of Claus Road and Floyd Avenue.

The cause of the crash is under investigation; however, we're told damage could have been a lot worse.

"Motorcycle injuries are always dangerous. It's never fun to see one of your own involved in a collision, but when it involves a motorcycle the likelihood of injury is much greater," said a Modesto Police Department spokesperson.

The officer, who hasn't been identified, is expected to recover.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
