Mothers Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Son's Bullies In School Cafeteria

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Two women are facing charges in connection with allegedly assaulting two school-aged girls who they say had been bullying a male classmate.

The Fresno Bee report that the two women are the mother and stepmother of a 12-year-old Fresno boy.

Fresno Police Lt. Joe Gomez said the two women, the boy, and the boy's 15-year-old sister are facing various charges after a fight in the school cafeteria last week.

No one was seriously injured.

Authorities say the boy complained about being bullied by the girls for months. The exact nature of the bullying was not clear. The newspaper reports the women said they talked to administrators about the problem but felt nothing was being done. The Fresno Unified School District issued a statement saying they are investigating the incident to determine possible disciplinary action.
