More Than 100 Pounds Of Pot Found In Big Rig Carrying Olives

VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say roughly 140 pounds of marijuana has been seized in Warren County.

News agencies report the Mississippi Department of Transportation Office of Enforcement seized the drugs Wednesday night.

Officials say they found the marijuana after stopping a Freightliner tractor and trailer on I-20 at an inspection facility in the county.

Authorities say the driver was carrying canned olives from California to Florida.

Police say MDOT officers found multiple duffel bags with several individual vacuum-sealed plastic bags containing the marijuana. The estimated value of the drugs is $3,000 to $4,000 per pound.

The owner and driver of the tractor trailer, 32-year-old Nertil Xhelo of Florida, was charged with possession of marijuana. He was being held in Warren County jail. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
