Hit-And-Run In Modesto Leaves Man With Major Injuries

Modesto police say the incident happened just after 6 a.m. at the intersection of McHenry and Briggsmore avenues. Officers say a person was trying to cross against a no-walk signal when they were struck by a car going through the green light.

The driver did not stay at the scene after hitting the person, officers say. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with major injuries and is still in serious condition.

Police say they are still trying to find the driver involved, along with another driver who was just behind the suspect and who probably saw the collision.
