Firefighters rescue dog from Modesto canal; search on for its owners

MODESTO – A search is on for the owner of a dog that was rescued by firefighters from a Modesto canal.

On Tuesday, the Modesto Fire Department posted that crews from Station 5 in the city had found a dog in a canal nearby and rescued it.

Firefighters brought the dog to a local veterinarian and checked it for a microchip, but the information was out of date.
