Missing Teenage Girl Found In Garage Of Sex Offender

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County authorities say a missing teenage girl has been found in the garage of the home of a registered sex offender who allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Sheriff's officials say the girl, from Santa Clarita, was reported missing by her parents Tuesday night. Deputies searched the area and used the girl's phone records to track her.

She was found in the garage at around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies arrested 26-year-old Kaene Dean, who was on parole for burglary and was registered as a sex offender because of an indecent-exposure conviction.

Dean was held on $100,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he has a lawyer.

Authorities didn't release the girl's age.
