Midtown Sacramento Whole Foods Project Groundbreaking Next Week

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Construction on a building that will house Whole Foods in Midtown Sacramento will start next week.

A parking garage at the corner of 21st and L streets will be replaced by the building, which will have residential housing as well as parking and a Whole Foods at the ground level.

The six-story building will have nearly 100 housing units, along with a promise of "ample parking for residents and Whole Foods shoppers."

The first phase will be the construction of the parking garage. The second phase will include Whole Foods, but isn't expected to begin until 2017.
