Midtown Bank Robbery Suspect Dies After Crashing Car Into Tree

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A Midtown bank robbery suspect died after police say he crashed his car head-on into a tree during an attempted getaway.

The accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. when police say the suspect tried to rob the El Dorado Savings Bank on J Street in Midtown.

Police gave chase and the suspect crashed his getaway car just after leaving the freeway.
