Meet Colusa Brown: California's First Pet Sutter Brown Gets A Deputy

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - There's a new dog in town.

California Gov. Jerry Brown announced Friday that he and his wife, Anne Gust Brown, have adopted a second dog named Colusa "Lucy" Brown.

Brown spokesman Evan Westrup says the two-month-old female puppy is a mix of Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Border Collie. Colusa joined the family earlier this week from a family in Red Bluff.

She was born in a litter of five to Oliver "Ollie" Winston and Chick Magnet. She's named for the county where Brown owns property.

The Browns already have an 11-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Sutter Brown who has a large social media following and is often spotted with the governor.

Brown's office says Sutter will retain the title of first dog while Colusa has been appointed deputy first dog.
