McRib Returns To Some Southern California Locations
McRib lovers, rejoice! The sandwich is back, but only on the menu only in certain California locations.
McDonald's announced the return of its celebrated barbecue-flavored pork sandwich on Monday in a statement.
"Southern California McRib fans are among the most passionate, dedicated and creative in the world," Paul Tulaphorn, McDonald's franchisee and association president of the local McDonald's owner operators group, said in a statement. "We're excited to reward their loyalty and join them to celebrate the return of an icon."
Along with the announcement, the chain debuted an iMessage app "McRib Finder", which is available to iOS 10 users. As the name suggests, it helps people find restaurants near them offering the sandwich.
A check of the app on Monday revealed the closest location to Sacramento is in Delano, Kern County. It's a nearly 4-hour drive south.
The sandwich will be available for the rest of the year, according to Consumerist.
It was last seen on the menu two years ago.
