May Snow Storm Brings Winter Weather To Sierra
TRUCKEE (CBS13) – We're midway through May, but the storm hitting the Sierra on Thursday is making things seem like winter again.
Forecasters say two to three feet of snow is possible through Friday.

Chain controls were in effect on Highway 50 and Interstate 80 in the Sierra.
Multiple accidents also closed part of I-80 for a time. A jackknifed big rig blocked the freeway at Nyack, Caltrans says, and traffic was being turned around.

Eastbound I-80 was reopened a little after 8:30 a.m.
Chain controls were dropped on I-80 a little after 9 a.m., but drivers are being warned that roads remain wet.
Snowfall is expected to continue into the weekend, but the snow line will rise to around the 6000' level from Saturday through Monday.
