Marshawn Lynch Sends Family Of Slain Grant High Player Gift, Condolences

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Seattle Seahawks player Marshawn Lynch sent a special gift and greeting to the family of a local football player who was gunned down not far from his high school in Del Paso Heights earlier this month.

Lynch reported sent J.J. Clavo's mother a Seahawks jersey with Clavo's number (5) and name on the back.

Quan Thompson, a former NFL and Grant Union High player, posted a photo on his Facebook page of the gift, saying Lynch also offered his condolences.

Quan and Lynch were teammates at Cal.

Police have yet to come up with a motive or a suspect in the ensuing weeks.

Clavo was set to play in a playoff football game on Nov. 13, but hours before kickoff, he and a teammate were shot in a car that was sprayed with bullets.

Nicole Clavo is asking for a gift this holiday season: answers surrounding her son's death. The reward money aimed at providing those answers keeps growing.
