Maricopa County Deputies Search For 'Clowns' Who Chased Kids

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. (AP) — Maricopa County sheriff's deputies are searching for three people suspected of chasing after a group of kids with baseball bats in Fountain Hills.

Deputies say they are looking for two men and a woman.

According to Det. Doug Matteson, the trio allegedly wore clown masks and threatened some 13-year-olds at Fountain Park on Friday night.

The victims say they were walking through the park when the would-be clowns jumped over a fence and chased them.

No injuries were reported.

Deputies say the suspects may have fled in a newer model, red Jeep Cherokee.

They were last seen wearing black hoodies and sweat pants.

One was wearing leggings with long hair either dyed or sprayed blue.
