Manteca Student Suspended After Photoshopping Clown Into School Photo

MANTECA (CBS13) — A student was cited after police say he edited a clown into a photo to scare school staff.

Police say the 14-year-old boy showed school staff a photo of what appeared to be a clown along the fence of the school on Thursday. When officers checked the area, they saw no sign of footprints or anything showing there had been anyone in the area for several days.

Rather than assume this clown was a phantom, officers inspected the student's school-issued tablet and found a photo editing program open, as well as a photo of the clown that had been edited into the alleged proof of a clown sighting.

The student has also been suspended after the false report.
