1 Dead In Manteca Crash

MANTECA (CBS13) – At least one person has died after a major crash in Manteca on Friday afternoon.

The scene is near Spreckels Avenue and Dupont Court.

Manteca police say the incident happened just after 3:30 p.m., but it's unclear exactly what led up to the crash. Several vehicles were involved – and the crash left a Modesto male trapped. That driver, who was unresponsive, was soon extricated from the vehicle but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a juvenile male Manteca resident was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and released. Police say neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.

The name of the driver who was killed is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The name of the juvenile will not be released due to his age.
